Want to join the fun & help to brighten people’s days?

Lucette is an equal opportunity employer offering great long-term benefits to people looking for a career in beauty and wellness.

We are always open to considering new candidates for our apprenticeship program. Please email [email protected] with your cover letter asserting your interest in our salon, as well as your resume. You may also call or text us at 815-986-1550 and request a time to shadow our team. You will learn, get a feel for our atmosphere, and probably tear a few foils.

apprenticeship program

Qualified candidates need not feel completely confident in their technical skills as our apprenticeship program will provide all the education necessary to become the most adept professional. More important to us in selecting a perfect team member is a positive attitude, a humble ego, a desire to help and lift others up, and a passion for lifelong learning.

Our apprentices receive the best training available, and go on to enjoy long-term fulfilling careers with us. The opportunities to broaden your skillset are many, and we endeavor to support our team in whatever way they wish to grow. Possibilities include more creative pursuits, leading or teaching, merchandising, community outreach, training in new service offerings, and more.

We are team-based at Lucette, and that means our staff have full transparency as to the health and status of the business, as well as complete support and resources from their peers and the salon itself. Working together to ensure the business is healthy elicits better choices by all and results in increased job security and satisfaction. Employees can expect a fair, predictable paycheck, and experience zero competition from their co-workers from day one with us because we do not operate on commission. This also equates to our clients receiving top-tier service, and a sense of camaraderie not found in many salon environments. We are often commended for providing a comfortable, easy space where people can be themselves.

Stylist Position

Are you a motivated professional who is both interested in elevating their craft and having a laugh?

We want people who have a strong desire to challenge themselves for steady growth in a supportive team atmosphere. We love working together to inspire each other, achieve our dreams, and contribute to our community and the planet while honoring our values of integrity, compassion, and joy.

At Lucette, we take the time and effort to grow our skills while having fun. While we do love goofing around, we always take our advanced education seriously. We have high expectations for ourselves, and provide support necessary to meet and exceed those expectations. Our new protégé can expect to get into it with fun hands-on training and travel opportunities.

Are you ready to be your best self, and contribute in meaningful ways to help bring out the best in others?

Front desk team

As part of our team support staff, you will be the first face people see. You set the tone for every person calling or walking into our salon so they can have a relaxing, affirming haircut experience. You have to be smiling and welcoming. Every day you will create flow and efficiency in our day by responding to emails, managing laundry, and looking for small ways to make sure our hairstylists can pay attention to our customers 100%. Whatever people need, you’re our go to. We can rely on you to surprise and delight guests by anticipating needs, and responding thoughtfully.

To thrive in this role, you don’t need work experience. We will teach you everything you need to know, but making someone’s day has to be the highlight of yours.

Here’s what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Walk in, clock in, and make your rounds to each chair to make sure stylists have towels and whatever products they need.
  • Look for ways to help. Show people where to go when they arrive and treat everyone as if they are an old friend.
  • Make authentic recommendations to help customers find products they love.
  • Help the team achieve goals by accurately scheduling appointments and closing sales.
  • You will have a set schedule, but it will fluctuate from time to time. Occasionally, you will need to work outside your usual hours for special events. Be prepared to work evenings and weekends.
  • For your safety, please keep in mind that many tasks will require traveling up and down the stairs, and occasionally carrying up to 50 pounds.
